There are 16 Tarot Cards used in Where the Water Tastes Like Wine. Each Tarot Card represents one of the sixteen characters that you meet in your travels across America.

Tarot Cards are also a means of categorizing the stories you earn. Each Tarot Card represents an idea that can be found in the stories you find. Some stories could be categorized under multiple Tarot Cards due to the player's choices determining how the story ends.
